Let’s be honest though.  You and I both know that one of my key objectives is to potentially land a new client for my consulting business, right?  I’m doing this for the same reason that you probably offer a free 1/2 hour consultation to potential clients.  I’d be willing to bet that your approach to your free consultations is not just about ‘closing the deal’.  It’s more about learning what you can about your potential client to determine if there’s a good match between their needs and your particular skills.

Well, it’s the same with me.  We may determine that you are in great shape to carry on your marketing as you have been or keep working with other service providers.  Maybe you’ll just pick up a few useful tips from me.  That’s cool.  You never know what may come out of it.  Maybe I’ll get a referral from you.  Or maybe you’ll need me at some point in the future.  Or maybe I’ll learn a few things from you, too.  It’s all good!
